Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival
Vancouver has tens of thousands of ornamental cherry trees, many of them descended from gifts from Japan, and the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival maps where they bloom across the city's streets and parks. Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park and the quiet residential streets of neighbourhoods such as Kerrisdale make lovely walks, and the festival's events add picnics and music under the trees. Varieties bloom at different times, so the season lasts for weeks.
