Terms of use

Using Waymark

In force from 13 October 2026. Waymark is a free guide to walking routes published on this site.

The routes

Distances, stages, overnight stops and seasons are the ones the route page states. A fact can change on the ground. Read the route page, and check a local source, before you walk. This site does not invent a stage, a hut or a distance.

Shared trips

A shared trip is a page you create. Anyone with the public link can read it. The private key, the part of the link after #k=, is what lets someone edit it. Do not paste that key into a chat.

Accounts

A trip account is a username and a password. There is no email on it, so a forgotten password cannot be reset. You can delete the account from My trips while you are signed in.

ChatGPT app

The ChatGPT app reads the same published routes. Saving, changing or deleting a trip there uses the site username and password. The app cannot book, pay, or change a published route page. Replacing a plan or deleting a trip waits for a clear yes. The address is on the support page.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, this page and the date above change with them.
